The Southington teenager accused of causing a deadly fire due to a prank remains free on $150,000 bond after a Bristol County Superior Court judge continued his case to July 29.

The judge also ruled to keep the arrest affidavit against Eric Morelli, 18, sealed until that date.

Police charged Morelli with 1st Degree Manslaughter and three counts of 1st Degree Reckless Endangerment after the June 22  fire at the Summer Brook Apartments in Southington killed Kristen Milano, 19.

Friends of Milano said Morelli tossed a firework into the 2nd floor bedroom of Milano’s brother.

No one knew Milano was still inside, sleeping in her mother’s room, when the fire broke out.

“We don’t know precisely what role he played, the allegations are one that he, that this was an accident, that was caused or created by him,” Ray Hassett, Morelli’s attorney, said outside of court Monday.
