Parents, school officials and students will gather at the Legislative Office Building today in Hartford to rally for higher quality education.
The group plans to call attention to the large number of students still waiting or even those who have not been admitted to charter and magnet schools.
Back in 2007, Hartford Public Schools began an ambitious school reform and redesign process but, there are still far too many students who don’t have access to high quality school options according to some parents.
This school year, over 20,000 families applied for racially and economically integrated magnet school seats, that is the highest number yet.
Participants will gather outside the LOB at 12 noon then march to ten State Board of Education at 165 Capitol Avenue.
