Put Skis To The Water: No Boat? No Problem

No boat?  No problem!  Lakeside Watersports in Danbury offers folks the opportunity to partake in all sorts of activities on Candlewood Lake.

“When people come out with us, they’re basically booking time with us.  They can use the time as they like,’ says co-owner Chris Nuelle, who recently purchased an Axis A20 boat. “We offer everything from wake boarding, water skiing, tubing, wake skating, wake surfing.”

Nuelle and his business partner, Mike Rambone, grew up on the shores of Connecticut’s largest lake, bordered by five towns, and are adept at helping participants learn a new skill.

“We teach all the way from youngsters — 5, 6, 7 years old — up to adults.  We’ve had grandparents out here water skiing,”  says Nuelle.  “It’s a really incredible feeling of being able to glide across the water.”

The more modern sports of wake boarding and wake surfing are gaining in popularity.

A two-hour outing on the lake costs $240, up to nine passengers included.  For more price points, click here to check out the website for Lakeside Watersports.
