A close call this weekend with rain surrounding Connecticut, however with high pressure in control over the region, expect a mostly dry comfortable weekend with intervals of clouds and sun.  Temperatures will average in the 70s to near 80.

A very dry air mass over Connecticut will win the battle against a weak area of low pressure that delivered rain to western Pennsylvania and New York State. Then low pressure developing off the North Carolina coast will travel northeast just missing Connecticut Sunday. Instead, we will have a dry, comfortable Sunday with intervals of sun and clouds along with low humidity.

High pressure will redevelop over the East Coast, then drift slowly south and east of Connecticut early in the workweek with a warming trend and increasing humidity.  Temperatures by Tuesday and Wednesday will top out near 90.  A cold front will cross the Northeast with a band of showers and thunderstorms late Wednesday and or Thursday.  The front will clear the heat and humidity offshore followed by sunshine and dry, comfortable conditions by the end of the week and next weekend.
