Wawona Packing Co. is asking customers to ensure their fruits are safe to eat after issuing a recall on some of its products.

The nationwide recall is for organic peaches, nectarines, plums and pluots that were packaged between June 1 and July 12. It is possible that these products may be contaminated with listeria bacteria.

Wawona Packing supplies fruits to stores including Trader Joes, Costco and BJs.

Listeria is a common bacteria that is found in soil, but it can cause serious infections in young children, the elderly and those who have weakened immune systems.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with these products.

For more information please visit the company’s website, which has issued a statement on the recall.
