A Glastonbury resident was arrested on July 18 after driving under the influence halfway across the country.

A Glastonbury Police Department press release reported that Sean Whitmore Hickey, 25, was pulled over at 2:26 a.m. for driving without his headlights on. He was driving southbound on Main Street near the town center of Glastonbury.

When the officer pulled him over Hickey admitted to drinking while driving on his trip from Cincinnati, Ohio, to Glastonbury.

Hickey was charged with failure to have headlamps illuminated, operating an unregistered motor vehicle (his registration expired June 17), operating under the influence of alcohol/drugs, and drinking while driving.

He was released on a $2,500 surety bond and is expected to appear in court on August 4.
