An off-duty firefighter was arrested today after entering an apartment that was not his own.

Deputy Chief Brian Foley released an unusual occurrence report that stated that Lamont Freeman, 44, was charged with breach of peace and trespassing in the second degree.

A complainant at a multifamily building in Hartford called police at 2:23 p.m. to report that a heavily intoxicated male–Freeman–opened her apartment door and walked in, yelling a name she didn’t recognize. She told Freeman that he was in the wrong apartment, but he did not leave so she pushed him backwards out the door and shut it. He continued to bang on her door and try to open it.

The Hartford Police Department dispatched officers who arrested Freeman. It was found that he doesn’t live in the building and wasn’t visiting anyone there.

Bond was set at $100, and Freeman is due to appear in court on July 24.
