New Haven Police Warning Regaring Break In’s

An elderly Bristol man was in Hartford Superior Court this week to face charges of second-degree manslaughter and reckless endangerment stemming from an accident last year where two people died.

Prosecutors said Robert Carroll, 86, was responsible for a double fatal accident last October in Farmington.

According to police reports and other court documents, Carroll says he had just come from a dentist appointment, he was turning onto Scott Swamp Road and misjudged the light, thinking it was green, Carroll turned into oncoming traffic.

Mindy Hart, 27, was at the wheel of her minivan. Hart was pregnant at the time of the accident.

Carroll’s wife Ruth was also killed.

This is a delicate case because of Carroll’s age; his next court appearance is next month.

Carroll is currently out on bond.
