New London Man Pleads Guilty To Charges Related To 2012 Homicide

A New London man pled guilty to federal charges in the 2012 beating death of Javier Reyes in a drug related killing.

Jose Rosado, 21, plead guilty to one count of committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering, and aiding and abetting the same in court in Hartford.

On September 12, 2012, Reyes was stabbed multiple times outside of his apartment at 187 Huntington Street in New London, and died a short time later.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Rosado was involved in a scheme to take over a drug distribution business in the city. Rosado has been detained since his arrest on January 15, 2014.  When he is sentenced, he faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years.
