Two arrests were made in the case of a June 14 shooting in Hartford.

East Hartford resident James Dudley, 28, was charged with assault in the first degree, carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm and reckless endangerment in the first degree. He was already in federal custody on unrelated charges. Manchester resident Tyvonne Gooden, 23, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit assault in the first degree and criminal liability for assault in the first degree. Both are convicted felons with previous arrests in Hartford.

The incident in question occurred just after 5 p.m. on June 14 near 1039 Albany Ave., according to Deputy Chief Brian Foley. Jonathan Weaver, 25, was driving on Albany Avenue and stopped at the Oakland Terrace intersection when a person walked up to his car and shot him in the neck.

Weaver arrived at St. Francis Hospital shortly after the incident and went into emergency surgery, and was later listed as in critical condition.
