The suspect in an Orange homicide will face a judge today at Derby Superior Court.

Timothy Granata, 22, is accused of killing his 58-year-old mother, Claudia Granata, but police have not released details about the cause of death.

On Thursday, relatives called 9-1-1 to report the death, responding officers found Timothy near the family home on Wild Rose Drive, and police said he surrendered without incident.

The last homicide in Orange was in 1992, another case in which a son was accused of killing his mother.
