A doctor in South Carolina wants to eliminate the spread of the Ebola virus using germ-killing robots.
About 300 Tru-D robots are being used in hospitals around the nation, and now one doctor has sent two to Liberia to help fight the Ebola epidemic.
They produce an intense UV-C light which can break down the D.N.A. of organisms, such as viruses.
The doctor has sent two of the robots to Liberia.
He said he's planning to spend two weeks there, helping to train others to use the Tru-D robots.
Hospitalizations and deaths from heart disease and stroke have dropped over the last decade.
Researchers analyzed the cardiac treatments of roughly 30,000,000 patients, and found that the rates of hospitalizations for cases of heart disease and stroke fell more than 33 percent over a 10-year span.
The risk of dying within a year of being hospitalized with a cardiovascular event also dropped.
The study's authors credited lifestyle improvements, as well as a rise in the use of statins and declines in smoking as factors.
