A student in Newbern, Tennessee was suspended for saying “Bless You” to a sneezing classmate.
Kendra Turner tells her side of the story on momdot.com. According to the website, the student says she said “bless you” to another student in keyboarding class, after the student sneezed. Turner, who is a senior, says she was reprimanded by her teacher, who said, “We will not have Godly speaking in my class.”
According to Turner, she then told the teacher that her pastor said she had a “Constitutional right…First Amendment Freedom of Speech.”
Turner said she was sent to the office and suspended from the keyboarding class.
