Hartford Police Seize More Than 1,500 Bags Of Heroin

Hartford police made a traffic stop last week that resulted in the seizure of 1,523 bags of heroin and two arrests.

Officers on Wednesday stopped a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier at Park and Washington Streets for a traffic violation. After investigating, police said they determined the car was stolen and a search of the vehicle revealed the heroin and $425 in cash.

Thomas Bruno 22,  and Christopher Barros, 20, both of Hartford were charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school , Bruno was charged with various motor vehicle violations.

Hartford Police said the street value of the heroin was over $10,000.
