More and more people are getting concerned about the safety of chemicals in processed foods, so the food industry has pledged to do something about it.

The grocery manufacturers association, or G.M.A., represents the country's biggest food companies.  The group said it's compiling a database of the chemicals it uses in foods, including preservatives, flavorings, and thickening agents.

Those chemicals are sometimes added to snacks and beverages without government approval.

That list won't be available to the public, but the G.M.A. said it will give access to the F.D.A.

You can wash your hands and clean our house as much as you want, but you still have your own germs that will follow you wherever you go, according to researchers.

For a study, they took seven families and studied them and their pets.  They swabbed their hands and feet and noses, as well as their household surfaces.  When three of those families moved, it took less than a day for their new homes to have the same bacteria that their old homes did.

These findings suggest that maybe someday a germ analysis could be used like d-n-a to determine if someone had recently live inside a home or hotel...
