While President Barack Obama was busy addressing the nation during yesterday’s press conference, social media only noticed one thing-his tan suit.

Seconds after stepping into the room, tweeters began to fire off about the president’s choice of attire.

By the end of the news conference, several new twitter handles have been created including the now trending hashtag- #yeswetan.

The White House addressed the controversy during it’s press briefing Friday.

“Before we get started, just for the sake of efficiency I know that there’s at least one aspect of the president’s news conference yesterday that attracted some attention,” press secretary Josh Earnest said.  “So I thought I would just go over one aspect of that argument — and it’s exactly this, the president stands squarely behind the decision that he made yesterday to wear his summer suit at yesterday’s news conference.”

“It’s the Thursday before Labor Day, he feels pretty good about it,” Earnest added.
