The Run for the Fallen of Connecticut happened today in Middletown.

Runners did 65 km --that's one kilometer for each of the 65 service members from Connecticut who died in Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11.

Fox Connecticuts Louisa Moller emceed one of the legs of the run and despite the humidity the turnout was excellent as people laced up to remember those who have given so much for the country.

The event was happening at the Wilbert Snow school in Middletown and the soccer field was adorned with 65 flower arrangements for the fallen.

Every kilometer on the course a marker displays American flags and a photograph of a service-member who died in the line of duty.
