Low pressure will deliver a period of light rain this afternoon and evening. The rain will quickly move out to sea early tonight followed by clearing skies overnight and cool temperatures. Sunday will be the pick of the weekend as high pressure from the mid-west will dominate our weather with plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures. Monday will feature sunshine mixing with high clouds ahead of the next weak storm that will deliver another round of light rain Tuesday. The sun returns to the northeast Wednesday followed by a cold front that will reinforce the cool air across the northeast and usher in the coldest air mass of the early fall season by Thursday and Friday. Early morning lows could potentially drop in the 30’s across the normally colder sheltered valleys with highs only in the upper 50’s and 60’s. It’s that time of year to get the jackets and sweaters out of the closets.
