Connecticut's gubernatorial candidates will go face to face in North Haven Monday and tackle transportation.

A forum with both Gov. Dannel Malloy and republican candidate Tom Foley starts at the Best Western on Washington Ave. at 9 a.m.

Each candidate will appear on stage separately and take questions from transportation advocates.

The forum is sponsored by Moving Transportation Forward in CT, a coalition of about three dozen chambers of commerce, construction trades, environmental advocates, planning agencies and city groups.

The coalition will push candidates on how they would overhaul the state's transportation system and ask them about current challenges and future plans. The discussion will be focused around the groups' recently-released candidate bulletin for the fall election. The bulletin asks the candidates and other public policy makers to address safety, capacity, reliability, funding and project development.

The event is open to the public with a $10 registration fee and starts at 9 a.m.
