A Citgo gas station was robbed Wednesday afternoon.

A store clerk from the Cheshire Citgo, located at 626 Maple Ave., told police a white male entered the convenience store with his face covered by a bandana.

The clerk said the suspect implied he had a weapon, but never displayed one. The suspect asked for money, and the clerk complied. The suspect left without incident.

Police saw a man entering the liquor store next door as they were responding to the incident at 5:39 p.m., and after the victim provided a description that matched the man officers were able to quickly arrest Casey Kennedy, 43, of Cheshire.

Kennedy was charged with robbery in the second degree and larceny in the sixth degree, and he is being held on $20,000 bond.

All the stolen evidence was recovered, and there were no customers in the store at the time of the incident.
