Some internships require college students to make copies and fill staplers, and some involve a bit more power. Jet power is the appeal at Pratt & Whitney, the UTC subsidiary that is making a push to attract more interns to their company and create an "engineering ecosystem."
Dantaya Williams, a former intern and now a director of talent at UTC said, "We really look at our internship program as investing in our future."
United Technologies says they have around 1000 interns working across the country, and 500 of them are based in Connecticut.
