Six studies have found a correlation between some over-the-counter painkillers and potentially deadly blood clots.  A caveat, however--they haven't been proven to cause the clots, but this initial connection is eye opening.

The studies looked at NSAIDs--or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, things like aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen.  The studies found that NSAID users had an 80 percent higher risk of developing clots in their veins.

Researchers are pushing for further research to see if one type of medication is more hazardous than another.

The CDC now recommends that kids aged two through eight get the nasal mist flu vaccine instead of the regular flu shot, because results showed the mist prevented 50 percent more flu cases than the traditional flu shot for those kids. However, doctors have said that if you can't get a nasal mist flu vaccine, the flu shot will work just fine.

If you're watching TV while texting on your iPhone or listening to music, you could be shrinking your brain. In a study, British researchers found that people who admitted to switching screens more tended to have less gray matter in the part of the brain that processes emotions. However, the researchers did say that more studies need to be done to prove there's a connection.
