CDC Confirms 12 Cases Of Enterovirus At Connecticut Hospitals

The Centers for Disease Control confirmed seven cases of Enterovirus at Yale-New Haven Hospital, the three cases at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford and two cases at Danbury Hosptial.

Doctors at CCMC suspected these patients were suffering from Enterovirus infections according to the hospital.

“We already knew there was a strong possibility it was here,” said Dr. Nicholas Bennett, medical director of infectious diseases and immunology at Connecticut Children’s. “We sent in samples to help the CDC track the virus and its spread across the nation.”

CCMC said they have seen no links between Enterovirus and paralysis in the cases they have treated.
