An arrest has been made after a report of shots fired on Wyllys Street in Hartford on Friday.

Gabriel Ramos, 24, of Hartford, was arrested after a citizen caller reported hearing shots and said the suspect was sitting in a vehicle near 137 Wyllys St. The suspect started running on foot when he saw officers responding, but the officers were able to catch him and arrest him near 15 Patsy Williams Way, according to a press release from the Hartford Police Department.

The Hartford Police Department’s shooting task force responded and found a gun–a Charter Arms Corp .38 SPL Revolver–with five spent shell casings. There were also 28 bags of heroin recovered at the scene.

Officers searched the area for victims due to the gunfire, but none were found.

Ramos, a convicted felon, is charged with possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell narcotics, possession with intent to sell narcotics in a school zone, interfering with police, carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, unlawful discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a firearm.
