Passengers on a US Airways flight from Philadelphia to the Dominican Republic took out their phones and cameras, as four people in HAZMAT suits removed a passenger. Witnesses say that the man shouted that he had Ebola, as a joke.
“I’ve done this for 36 years, I think the man that said this is an idiot. I’ll say it straight up,” a flight attendant said to passengers before health officials entered the plane.
Starting Saturday, several U.S. airports will enact new security measures to prevent the spread of Ebola virus. Passengers traveling from Western Africa will be checked for symptoms, answering questions, and having their temperatures taken when they arrive at five major airports. JFK International, Newark, Washington-Dulles, Atlanta, and Chicago O’Hare airports will all have increased screening starting this weekend.
