NEW YORK (PIX11) – After abruptly shuttering all its locations in July, Crumbs Bake Shop is coming back, this time under the management of entrepreneur and reality TV star Marcus Lemonis.
The Crumbs location at 1385 Broadway between 37th and 38th streets will open its doors Oct. 14, the company said in a news release Thursday.
Facing bankruptcy, the popular cupcake shop closed its 65 locations in 12 states during the summer after it was delisted from Nasdaq.
Lemonis and his acquisition company created a joint venture to save Crumbs from closing permanently.
“Saving this iconic bake shop was important to me not only because of its existing delicious products, but because there is a tremendous opportunity to expand product offerings so that every sweet lover can find something they’ll enjoy,” Lemonis, host of popular CNBC show “The Profit,” said in a statement.
Crumbs will be reopening 25 other locations in the next 30 days.
