Take a haunted Segway ride through downtown Guilford this October!
Rich Petrillo is the spirited storyteller behind Shoreline Segway, and though he hosts tours year-round, he throws in spooky tales around Halloween.
"We have lots of old houses, and you know, a lot of the old people had a lot of superstitions."
On the tour you visit a haunted former jail in the basement of Town Hall, the eerie town green--a cemetery once lay below the ground, but the tombstones were removed in the 1800s (the bodies remain as they were)--and the statue dedicated to the Civil War that's stood since 1897. "If the moon is full, and the conditions are right--the soldier steps off the pedestal and walks around the green," Petrillo says.
