Man Arrested After Threats And ‘Agressively Mopping’ Woman’s Shoes
BRISTOL – Police arrested a man who they said displayed threatening behavior that included backing a woman against a wall and ‘aggressive mopping.’
Monday night, police said they were called to the Double Tree Hotel, 42 Century Dr., for a disturbance. Police found that a man became unruly and grabbed a mop from her. He then started to mop the floor and became more aggressive and mopped over the woman’s shoes several times. When the employee asked him to stop, police said he turned his back to her and forcibly pushed her into a corner.
The woman was shaken and crying when police arrived and wanted to press charges.
John Thornton, 30 of Southington, was arrested and charged with Breach of Peace in the Second Degree. Police said while he was being transported and processed he shouted insults and threatened officers with bodily harm. As a result, Thornton was additionally charged with Threatening in the Second Degree.
Thornton posted bond and will appear in court on October 27th.
