Teen shot in New Haven, Police are searching for suspects

NEW HAVEN- Police say a fourteen year old male was shot in Elm City on Wednesday evening.

Officers responded to the Cornell Scott Ridge Apartments on 437 Eastern Street at 8:06 P.M. on a report of a person shot. Police say the victim suffered from a single gunshot wound to his right calf. Officers say the victim told them he was walking on Eastern Street towards Foxon Boulevard when he heard shots fired and didn’t realize he had been hit until he ran from the scene.

The victim was then transported by ambulance to Yale-New Haven hospital and doctors say his condition is not life threatening.

Witnesses say two males dressed in black fled the scene on foot.

Detectives from the departments Major Crimes Division and the Bureau of Investigation are now investigating.
