MANCHESTER – Police made a quick arrest after an armed robbery early Thursday morning.

Around 1:15 a.m. police were called to Sam’s Convenience Store, 55 Oakland St. for the report of and armed robbery.  Police said the suspect, described as being a black male wearing all black clothing, showed a handgun to the clerk and took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene.

While officers were setting up the search, Officer Emmanuel Kreimes noticed a car’s lights turn on in the area of the Oakland Terrance Apartments near the store. The officer parked nearby business and watched the vehicle, when it pulled out and headed north on Oakland Street,  Kreimes saw that the vehicle was being operated by a single black male operator, who was dressed in dark clothing.

When Officer Kreimes stopped the car on the vehicle near the intersection of Oakland Street and Tolland Turnpike, he saw  someone wearing all black, lying down in the rear seat of the vehicle. With the help of a South Windsor police officer who was nearby, the driver and passenger of the vehicle were then removed from the vehicle at gunpoint and secured. Kreimes found a loaded .40 caliber handgun under the driver’s seat as well as money from the robbery.

Keron Parkman, 37, of Broadbrook, was charged with robbery, criminal possession of a firearm, and other weapon and robbery  charges. He was held on $750,000 bond will appear in court Friday.

Parkman was held on a $750,000 bond and will be presented in GA 12 on 10/24/14 if he does not pot bond.

James Crane, 28,  of Manchester was charged with conspiracy robbery and larceny charges, and held on $500,000 bond.  He will appear in court on Friday as well;
