On Monday, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy and U.S. Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro will announce a $5.5 million grant to put 567 of Connecticut’s long-term unemployed back to work.

The grant money will go to the CT Ready to Work Initiative, which is a collaborative effort by The Workforce Alliance and the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board.

The CT Ready to Work Initiative will be able to provide training, support, and job placement services to unemployed workers and veterans in the fields of information technology, engineering, and advanced manufacturing.  The CT Ready to Work Initiative was awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Ready to Work partnership.

The announcement will be made at The Workforce Alliance at 560 Ella Grasso Blvd in New Haven at 12:30pm.
