CROMWELL – A woman was killed in an accident in Cromwell Monday morning.
The accident happened at the intersection of Route 3 (Shunpike Road) and Route 372 in Cromwell around 10 a.m.
Police say the operator of one of the cars was in cardiac arrest when they arrived. Emergency crews transported Marta Quintana, 85, to Middlesex Memorial Hospital where she later died.
The operator of the other car, a 22-year-old male from Cromwell, sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
The road was closed while police investigated but reopened around 1:16 p.m.
Police are still determining the cause of the crash.
