HAMDEN — Gov. Dannel Malloy and Republican challenger Tom Foley are tied 43 – 43  percent in the race for governor, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released early Wednesday morning.  Independent candidate Joe Visconti has 7 percent.

With just six days until election day, six percent of voters say they still don’t know who they will vote for, the poll says. Thirteen percent of people who have chosen a candidate say they may change their mind in the next few days.

“Visconti remains unknown as 75 percent of voters still don’t know enough about him to form an opinion,” the poll says.

Today, with Visconti out of the race, Foley gets 46 percent to Malloy’s 45 percent, according to the survey.

“The Connecticut governor’s race is a fight to the finish between Gov. Dannel Malloy and challenger Tom Foley – and between men and women,” said Douglas Schwartz, director of the Quinnipiac Poll.

In the last two Quinnipiac polls, Foley and Malloy were also neck and neck.

Previous Quinnipiac Polls:

On Oct. 22: Malloy 43, Foley 42, Visconti 9

On Oct. 8: Malloy 43,  Foley 43, Visconti 9

On Sept. 10: Malloy 40, Foley 46, Visconti 7
