SCSU Police issue alert to students following armed robberies

NEW HAVEN-Southern Connecticut State University Police are searching for a suspect involved in two early morning campus robberies.

Police said a male suspect displayed a gun at two separate armed robberies  near Jess Dow Field shortly after midnight. Several items of personal property were taken.

Students were notified about the robberies on the school’s Facebook page shortly after the incident occurred.

Police say that no students were injured but advised students to use extreme caution when returning to their residence halls.

The suspect is described to be a black male in his 20s, about 5’8 and was wearing a gray and orange sweater.
