Nik Wallenda Chicago Tightrope Walk

CHICAGO – WGNTV – Crowds gathered hours before showtime Sunday with their heads tilted back and Cameras in hand to witness another stunt from daredevil Nik Wallenda.

This time, Wallenda had the Windy City as the backdrop. The question: Would he make it? Could he defy death one more time?

Wallenda walked 600 feet above the Chicago River on a wire no wider than a nickel.

Gingerly but swiftly, Wallenda put one foot in front of the other walking from the west Marina City Tower to the Leo Burnett building at a higher than expected 19 degree incline.

Then it was on to part two.

A blindfolded Wallenda walked between the two Marina City towers.

The skyscraper stunt was broadcast live around the world. Tens of thousands watched in person on the ground while others crowded onto Marina City balconies and in downtown office buildings for watch parties.

At a post walk press conference Wallenda talked about family and faith. His ultimate goal he says is to inspire people to work hard to accomplish even what seems impossible.
