Zoobiquity is a best-selling nonfiction book about the links between animals and human health issues, published in 2012 by cardiologist Barbara Natterson-Horowitz and health writer Kathryn Bowers, and FOX has just cut a deal to adapt it into a drama series.

Bones fans will recognize the other half of future Zoobiquity series foursome, Stephen Nathan and Jon Collier, both of whom currently serve as executive producers on the tenth season on Bones.  The duo are currently in the process of penning the television adaptation of Zoobiquity, a plot line which will revolve around a dynamic group of doctors that treat their patients by searching for correlations in the animal world.

Sounds a little bit like House meets Grey’s Anatomy, meets Outbreak meets Medicine Man, all wrapped into one.  Talk about a drama forerunner for the next pilot season.  The Zoobiquity project has a script-plus-penalty order from the network.  Produced by 20th Century Fox, the project will be executive produced by Natterson-Horowitz, Bowers, Nathan, Collier, and Spencer Medof.
