Democrat John Larson, the incumbent in the race, defeated Republican Matthew Corey and third-party candidate Jeffrey Russel to stay in the seat for District 1, which covers Hartford. This is his ninth term covering the state’s largest district.
Democratic Rep. Joe Courtney has won re-election to another term representing eastern Connecticut in District 2, defeating Republican candidate Lori Hopkins-Cavanagh and two third-party candidates, Daniel Reale and WIlliam Clyde.
Rep. Rosa DeLauro from District 3 in New Haven has easily won a 13th term, defeating challenger James brown.
Democrat Rep. Jim Himes, who was first elected in 2009, won his reelection in the 4th District against Republican challenger Dan Debicella.
Rep. Elizabeth Esty, the Democrat incumbent, defeated Republican Mark Greenberg in the race for District 5, which covers the northwest section of the state.
