Suspicious bag found at Bristol post office not a threat

BRISTOL – Police closed off a post office on Main Street at 2:31 p.m. on Tuesday after a suspicious bag was located at the entrance.

Police say that a man noticed the bag on the ground in the parking lot and then moved it into the post office’s foyer.

U.S. Postal Police and Hartford Police Department Bomb Squad responded to the scene, and using an x-ray device determined there was no threat. The Bristol Police Department will continue to investigate the incident.
