Christmas takes place from November 22nd to January 4th. The Breakers, The Elms, & Marble House are open and decorated for the season with 24 decorated trees, thousands of poinsettias - including a 15 ft tall poinsettia tree.   The "tree" is made up of approximately 150 individual poinsettia plants.  The plants are removed and replaced several times during the six-week holiday season.  Back this year are the gingerbread houses.  The Gingerbread Mansion Contest will take place again this year in the kitchen at The Breakers.  Local pastry chefs will build houses that will be modeled after several of the preservation society's houses including:  Isaac Bell House, The Chinese Tea House, Kingscote and more.   The houses will be on display at The Breakers starting November 29th.
