Robin Williams’ death has officially been ruled a suicide, according to the coroner division of the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the report, the cause of death was asphyxia due to hanging, and the manner was suicide.
A toxicological evaluation showed there was no presence of alcohol or illicit drugs in his system. There were prescription medications in his system, but they were detected in therapeutic concentrations.
Williams was found dead in his California home on Aug. 11. At the time it was reported by officials that the actor had hung himself from his bedroom door using a belt.
It was later reported by his wife that Williams had been sober for some time when he died, but he was suffering from the early stages of Parkinson’s disease and was depressed and anxious about it.
