WILLIMANTIC — A section of route 32 was closed for several hours after a car crashed into a utility pole early Saturday morning.
According to police, a car traveling eastbound crossed the double yellow line and crashed into a utility pole on West Main Street, known as route 32, around 4 a.m.
Investigators believe the driver, Joel Harris, 23, of South Windham may have fell asleep at the wheel before he crashed. He was not injured in the crash.
Police closed the road between Roanoke Avenue and Holbrook Avenue for Connecticut Light and Power to repair the downed utility pole.
