MIDDLESEX–Last month Gov. Dan Malloy ordered hospitals to drill for any possible Ebola outbreak. On Monday, he got to see preparations firsthand.
Middlesex Hospital in Middletown showed the governor around the ER. Doctors and administrators took him to the hospital’s isolation room and explained the preventative measures healthcare workers would take to contain Ebola.
“I think the presentation itself speaks to the seriousness of a potential outbreak, how serious we are in Connecticut to try to cut it off at that point, that one patient,” Malloy said.
Middlesex Hospital said it has held nine drills on Ebola so far.
