Woman stabbed at New London motel, man arrested

NEW LONDON – Police arrested a New London man on charges he held a woman against her will and assaulted her.

Around 9:30 a.m. Monday, police responded to a report of a woman running down the street crying and bleeding. Police said she told them she had been held in a local motel for several hours, struck by a blunt object and stabbed. She gave police the description a man and the vehicle he was driving.

Police located the vehicle and arrested Dennis Parrish, 49. He was charged with unlawful restraint and assault. He was held on a $100,000 bond.

The woman’s injuries were not life threatening according to police.

Police are looking for a second woman who also might have been involved.
