BRISTOL – The City Council overwhelmingly approved an extension of the city’s contract with the developer of the downtown shopping center.

Renaissance Downtown is the developer of the city’s downtown shopping center project.  The council voted 6 to 1 to allow up to $2 million for infrastructure improvements, but that’s all subject to Renaissance coming up with private funding of its own by March 31st.

The plans call for over 100  apartments and around 50,000 sq. ft of retail space on the site of the old Bristol Mall.
