BEIJING — Today, November 11, is a huge holiday in China. “Singles Day” was started in 1993 as the anti-Valentine’s Day.
Millions of singles celebrate the day by showing that special someone just how much they care. Online shopping in China on this day is busier than Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined in the US. Alibaba.com (a Chinese version of Amazon) says that shoppers already spent $2 billion in just the first hour of the day.
According to The Nanfang, one man decided it would be a good idea to display his affection with 99 iPhone 6’s.
With the smartphone boxes arranged in a heart shape, he reportedly asked a woman for her hand in marriage.
The proposal in front of friends and strangers cost the man about $82,000.

So did she say yes?
No.
The Nanfang reports that the proposal was denied, leaving us to wonder what the poor guy is going to do with all those phones.
