FARMINGTON--A big city luxury is looking to build momentum in select suburbs in Connecticut.

Alcohol can now be delivered right to your doorstep in Greater Hartford, through porter21.com. The website is a middleman between the package store and the customer. Porter 21 doesn't have a liquor license, so it's partnered with a Farmington Valley liquor store to supply and deliver alcohol to homes.

The service claims to promote convenience, as well as safety.

"We're encouraging people not to drink and drive--we'll come to your home and bring the booze to your house," Ankit Harpaldas, Porter 21's founder, said.

When alcohol is delivered, the person signing for it has to be 21, present an ID, and sign an age statement form.

There's a $25 minimum on orders, and orders must be placed by 8 p.m.
