MILFORD – The listing could read: “Close to Long Island Sound, this cozy property is ready for anything and sleeps a whole crew, has great street access and huge garage.”

The city of Milford is selling an old firehouse now that it’s replaced by a newer building. Located at 204 Melba St., the former station 6 is on the market because crews have moved to the new East Side Fire Station. Milford purchased the building in 1944.

Milford wants to sell the property at auction. The city will accept sealed bids until Noon on Friday, November 21st. Bids will need to have a deposit in the form of certified or bank check for 10% of the total bid.

The building is on an acre of land, and is in a BD Zone. It will be open for inspection on Friday, November 14th from 11 a.m. to 12noon.

Anyone interested in placing a bid may find the bidding instructions on the City’s website. A wood fire pizza chain is possibly interested in purchasing the building to expand its business.

No word on if it has a fire pole.
