Obese Obesity

You may use an energy drink to get you through the day, but please keep in mind how dangerous they are for little kids.

A new study looked at calls to poison control centers, and found that more than half of the calls about energy drinks involved children under the age of six, and in some of the cases, the kids even suffered seizures and heart problems.

Some energy drinks have two to three cups of coffee worth of caffeine per serving.

The study will be presented tomorrow at a meeting of the American Heart Association.

A new study out of Britain found that roughly 90% of obese people are in denial about how overweight they are.  The study found that only 11%  of obese women called themselves obese, with most of them identifying themselves as very overweight.

However, men didn’t even get that far.  Only 7% said they were obese,  and only 16% categorized themselves as very overweight.

That means over three-quarters of obese British men seemed to think they were just a few pounds too heavy.

Why this is happening?  Researchers said that bigger and bigger clothing and portion sizes are causing people to have a distorted view of what’s a normal size.
