WILLIMANTIC – Catherine Caron, 52, of Scotland, CT, is expected in Danielson court Monday, Nov. 17 for an arraignment.​

Police arrested Caron after a crash in September. Police said that Caron crashed into a utility pole in the area of Quarry St. in Willimantic on Sept.10.

Following a two month long investigation, Caron, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance and risk of injury.

Caron was driving an EastConn shuttle, with four children inside. All four went to the hospital with minor injuries.

EastConn is a regional educational service center providing services to schools, educators, students, and adults, according to their website. The company released a statement saying that Caron has been fired. She had been an employee for 10 years and had always been in good standing.

All drivers go through intensive training and background checks before EastConn hires them. The company is reviewing its training procedures after this incident.
