NORTH HAVEN – The chairman of the North Haven housing authority is facing sex assault charges after a year long investigation.

Police say Ralph Cook, 49, hosted a party at his home on Mountain Brook Road in October of 2013. A guest told police that while attending the party, Cook forced the individual to perform sex acts.

Investigators collected evidence at Cook’s home that included extensive DNA analysis.

Cook was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with Sexual Assault First Degree, and Unlawful Restraint.

Cook is being held on a $250,000 bond and will be arraigned in Meriden Superior Court.
